For those of you who are ready to take the next step, Anchorage Bariatrics is here to not only help you reach and maintain your weight loss goals, but to also look your best after weight loss.

Does weight loss age your face?

We all know that weight loss and creating a healthier you is a very positive accomplishment. However, some people find that when the extra weight disappears, their face reveals signs of aging due to a loss of plumpness. This can result in wrinkles being more pronounced, drooping of the jawline, and dark circles under the eyes. Luckily, there are aesthetic measures we can take to correct these issues that tend to surface after weight loss.

Botox

What is Botox?
Botox is a drug doctors have been using for years to treat wrinkles and facial creases.
How does Botox work?
The injected muscle can’t contract which makes wrinkles relax and soften.
Where is Botox used?
Botox is most often used on forehead lines, crow’s feet, and frown lines.
Juvederm (fillers)
What is Juvederm?
Juvederm is a cosmetic treatment referred to as a filler that is used to restore facial contours and improve signs of aging.
How does Juvederm work?
Juvederm adds volume to the facial tissue through its active ingredient, hyaluronic acid. This is a natural substance found in the body that stimulates the production of the connective tissue that plumps the skin (collagen).
Where is Juvederm used?
Juvederm is most often used to target areas in the cheeks, around the mouth and nose, and the lips.

Both procedures can dramatically reduce the effects of weight loss to the face. Botox generally takes seven to fourteen days to take full effect, while Juvederm results are often noticeable immediately after a procedure. Botox will last three to six months and Juvederm can last one to two years. Results will vary for each individual.  Contact us today to learn more!
