Take care of your body because you only have one. No matter how badly you may feel, there is always hope and a solution. U-turns are allowed in this situation!

Start by assessing yourself – Ask, ‘When did I start gaining weight?’ and ‘What triggered this?’ There are many factors in our lives that could contribute to weight gain, including medical conditions, psychological issues, sleep problems or just the stresses we face each day. By looking at how you got to where you are now, you can take steps towards finding a solution.

Maintaining a positive attitude when facing challenges helps your mind be more open to options. And more options mean more solutions that could fit your lifestyle. Looking at the options on your own is a good idea, but a better idea is discussing them with a professional who understands all the risks and benefits. We are here to help you talk through those options to reach the best solution for you, and therefore arrive at the best outcome – a healthier, happier you!

Easy Yoga Pose: The Warrior

This pose is great for toning up your legs.

The front foot should be pointed forward, and the back foot should be at a 90-degree angle. Try to work towards getting your bent knee at a 90-degree angle. If you hold the pose here, you will feel it working your quadriceps (the top of your thighs).

Try to keep the hips squared and facing the same direction as your back foot.

The Best Foods for Burning Fat

  1. Cold water fish like salmon, mackerel and sardines are high in the omega 3 fats that improve insulin sensitivity and decrease inflammation.
  2. Vinegar. Vinegar aids the storage of carbs as muscle glycogen rather than fat, and studies show eating vinegar as a dressing can improve pancreatic function and lower the insulin response to carbs.
  3. Nuts. Nuts are high in antioxidants, protein, fiber and healthy fats, and research shows they significantly improve body composition. They not only increase the metabolic response to eating but also blunt hunger and increase feelings of satiety.
