Want to get bariatric surgery but worried about the cost?

Don’t worry just yet (worrying can add to your weight!). Try researching first. Do you really need surgery? Consulting with your family doctor or attending one of our free informational sessions are great places to start. If the answer is yes, research more on what procedure is recommended for you and the average cost of that procedure. Our doctors and staff can help you determine the right procedure and we can also discuss ways to handle the expense.

Our front office staff are knowledgeable and able to help you work with your insurance provider because some plans do cover certain procedures. We can also help by customizing a payment plan if you’re paying out of pocket or we offer financing options through Bariatric Loans.

The decision to have bariatric surgery is a big one. But when it comes to your health and wellbeing, it’s an investment that pays the highest dividends. Just like the saying “health is wealth!”

Invest in yourself by investing in your health. You will improve the quality of your life and that’s worth every penny!

Balancing Hormones

One of the culprits for gaining weight is hormone imbalance. There are plenty of hormones that cause weight-gain but the top three are Cortisol, Thyroid and Insulin. When you get these hormones in balance, losing weight will be easier because these hormones regulate much of how we look and feel (cravings, satiety, emotions, etc…)!

Your hormones are produced, stored, transported and metabolized by a variety of proteins in your body. Getting enough good quality dietary protein every day can be hard. Having a protein shake in the morning not only gives you a good dose of complete protein, but also fills you up and balances your blood sugar (keeping that insulin in check), reduces your cravings and keeps your energy levels up till lunchtime. Just make sure you are using a good quality un-denatured organic whey protein, not the over-processed mass market ones. Or if you are dairy-free, a good quality plant based protein powder.
