Have you ever decided that you’re going to do something about your weight, but did not see it through? You have the time, you have the motivation, but then just decided not do it? That is perfectly normal. It’s a big decision.
One of the biggest reasons why we tend to step backward is our fear that we’re going to be judged. It’s like stage fright. At Anchorage Bariatrics, we understand that and we’d like to share with you how we see things on our end. When we first meet a patient, we see someone who needs our help and that is exactly what we are here for – and we’re happy to do it! When you walk in, we are instantly proud and we think, “congratulations for taking the first step!” We see every patient as someone who is working hard to change the quality of his or her life and there is no better feeling in the world than to be of help.
We care and we’d love to meet you, to help you, and to work as a team with you – just because we can. We have the science, the skill and just about anything you need to triumph through your weight loss journey. Let us help you! We will work with you to find that comfortable space and achieve your fitness goal.

Sleep is a friend
Too tired to exercise? Then sleep. It has been proven that creating good sleeping habits can reduce your waist line! This is because having a good night’s sleep reduces stress hormones and keeps you happy!
Once you are well rested and on a regular sleeping routine, begin to incorporate light exercise. Even if you feel a bit tired and sluggish at first, once you start moving your body will respond and you’ll feel more awake and energized afterwards.
Stress hormones = comfort food cravings
Comfort foods = not healthy
Berries are berry good!
Berries like strawberries, blueberries and raspberries are just some of the popular types of berries that can help with weight loss! Berries are rich in antioxidants, they are found to aid in regulating blood sugar and insulin levels, are great boosters of metabolism and are rich in fiber (which fights belly fat!).
