Psychologist for Bariatric Surgical Center

Anchorage Bariatrics has grown into the premier center for Alaskans seeking surgical and non-surgical weight loss options. With this growth comes opportunity, and we are looking for a part-time psychologist to evaluate and counsel our bariatric patients.

Job Description

Expected duties include: conducting clinical interviews of bariatric patients to determine psychological readiness for bariatric surgery and the post-surgery adjustment period; employing psychological testing tools; interpreting collected data and summarizing the data in a concise format for the bariatric surgery team; developing a comprehensive treatment plan for patients found to be not ready for surgery at the time of the assessment. Experience in evaluating and treating eating disorders is highly desirable.

Start with one day per week until January 2018, with opportunity for more time thereafter.

Benefits include working in a collaborative environment with motivated patients; all overhead covered including work space, computer, charting software, all patients provided and billing services provided. Must be PhD, licensed and current and must maintain currency and good standing.
