You want change; you’re ready for it. You have questions, but you’re afraid to ask. Why? Could it be because the other times you’ve asked, you’ve been judged and denied the help you’re requesting? Maybe you just weren’t in the right place.

“From the moment I first arrived at the Anchorage Bariatrics office, I felt like I had entered a giant, welcoming support facility. The entire office staff is fantastic; you can tell immediately that they genuinely care about every person who walks in. I always felt like people were staring at me, pointing fingers, and whispering behind my back. It was the exact opposite at Anchorage Bariatrics,” explains Pat

Here at Anchorage Bariatrics, we understand how you feel. We understand just how big the change you’re making is. We appreciate that you’re making an effort to better yourself and we will match that effort.

Every patient story is a success story and if you’re happy, then we’re happy! Read more of our success stories and find inspiration here >> https://www.anchoragebariatrics.com/success-stories/. Maybe you’ll even find answers to some or all of your questions. If not, feel free to contact us!

Our next Support Group is Wednesday, May 1 and the topic is “Your Fitness Journey” presented by Anthony Baynard of Body Renew. Support groups are FREE and open to everyone! The meeting will be from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM in the Willow Room (adjacent to the cafeteria) at Providence Hospital. Click here to register!

Doctor Google?

Pretty much all questions can be answered by Google. Just type it in. Even the most outrageous questions get answers.

It’s not advisable to Google medical conditions though, because we’re not really sure if the information online is true or not. It’s still best to ask a doctor about medical conditions. But if you’re not up to it and still want to use the internet, a best practice would be to find legitimate websites that talk about the specific conditions that you have.

Chia Seeds

Despite their small size, chia seeds are full of important nutrients.

They are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, rich in antioxidants, and they provide fiber, iron, and calcium.

Omega-3 fatty acids help raise HDL cholesterol, the “good” cholesterol that protects against heart attack and stroke.
